I spend a ton of time on a plane and one of my favorite things is to hang out with the gorgeous flight attendants and share tips on how to look great while flying and especially when you land.
Here are a few of my favorite secrets and the products I keep in my bag of tricks and that many of you are asking about from my segment on The Doctors TV show. And if you missed the segment, you can catch it here.
This is one of my favorites inspired by my travels to Paris! Floral Waters to keep your skin hydrated:
FLORAL REFRESHER -
I make this at home with fresh rose petals, hot water and put it in a 3 oz. spritzer. (TSA Approved!) I then add a tablespoon of vodka or witch hazel to serve as toner. (If you are gluten sensitive, skip the vodka).
If you don’t have vodka at home, just ask for small mini bottle from the flight attendant on board…but don’t over indulge! We want this for external beauty not internal drinking!
Hate to be a buzz kill but drinking alcohol can really dry out skin especially when flying! I try not to drink a few days before flying and if I do indulge in a glass of champagne, I'll make sure to drink two glasses of water for every alcoholic or caffeinated drink I have. Also... holding off on the alcohol prevents unnecessary bloating too!
Spritz on face ever hour on your flight and feel instant freshness!
Helps to set your makeup too.
Benefits of rose water go all the way back to Cleopatra…she used to bathe in it. Smells so divine and elegant – a tip fit for a queen!
Swap your sleep mask for a sheet mask:
On my flights over 5 hrs I use a sheet mask before landing. I love the K beauty masks and actually place it right over my make up for hydration for about 15 mins. I love these kinds of masks so much, that I custom formulated three in my line Passport To Beauty.
The Sheet Masks to choose from are:
Australian Tea Tree - If you have oily skin that tends to break out
Singapore Birds Nest and Pearl - the beauty secret of the flight attendants from Singapore Airlines (this one tightens and firms while making skin radiant)
Korean Soo Anh Herb - This is the one I used on the show and is a great all around mask for anyone that wants to hydrate and glow!
3) The plane is preparing to land…what to do?! Here’s a quick glam up to have you looking tarmac terrific from head to toe.
Invest in a shimmery cream:
This will give you some serious glow. I carry a small white bronzing elixir creme that I put down my nose/cheekbones to make me look dewy and fresh. It should look like you’re perpetually catching the light and glowing. The one I used on the show is one I created in my brand Passport To Beauty that is based on the beauty secrets of Spain. It's chock full of saffron and can be used on your face and body. It's our best seller because it looks amazing on everyone!
For hair. Try a small amount of lotion and run through the ends of your hair. It gives an instant sheen and freshens up all the flyaways! This is a flight attendant fave. Keeps ends soft and like you have just had a blow out!
And this is MY fave if you are running on low sleep…add blue eye liner to your water line. It instantly makes whites of eyes brighter …and is a great tip if you're “hung-over” or just flew in night before. It gives you the look of 8 hrs of sleep! And works as optical illusion.
And I just want to thank my gorgeous fight crew from Delta Airlines! They were the inspo for this segment and I had the BEST time hangin with them on my flight from London to NYC.
